Please email us at info@mennoniteburialsociety.com if you did not receive an invoice from us.
2024 Levy rates were voted on by Members at the Jan 13, 2024 Annual General Meeting as noted below:
66 years and older $ 155
46 to 65 years of age $ 132
15 to 45 years of age $ 118
New-born to 14 years of age $ 30
Available invoice payment options 1), 2) and 3) are noted below and also shown at link below. Option 4) is not active at this point, but possibly in the future.
https://mennoniteburialsociety.com/payment
1) Interac e-transfer – sign into your online banking site and then send an Interac e-transfer to info@mennoniteburialsociety.com for the amount of your invoice and please ensure that MBS account # (a 4 or 5 digit number on your invoice) is noted in the memo field. No security question or answer is required, since we setup to auto deposit into our account. In other words, if we receive an email requesting that we deposit with security answer, we can't do so since it's set to auto deposit. So, you'll need to cancel that e-transfer and send another one, without any security question or answer, and the e-transfer should process correctly, like many e-transfers have already successfully done in the past.
2) Online –pay online by credit card or PayPal at https://mennoniteburialsociety.com/payment by following instructions, word for word and these details may also help you. Payment via phone or email is not possible, as that is not secure and our board members do not allow us to keep any credit card details on file. Please go to bottom of page and pick the Insert Amount Due (or other applicable) shopping item and then enter account # and click Add to Cart button. Update the quantity to total shown on invoice, and once the total shows same $ amount as invoice, please process accordingly by clicking grey button if paying by credit card, or yellow button if paying with your PayPal account. See additional help, if needed, below option 4).
3) Cheque, money order or bank draft – mailed to us. As many members (and our board of directors) agree, cheque payment is the least viable option, since Canada Post does not deliver mail to us on a 100% guaranteed basis. Cheques can go missing in the mail, before arriving with us. Therefore members paying by cheque could unknowingly inactivate their membership in our society, along with inactivating their coverage (benefit payment of up to $6,900 based on 2024 rate), which would be very unfortunate and require additional efforts to become a member in good standing again.
4) Online Bill Pay via banking portal - since our invoices are annual, we have not set up at banks under the Pay Bills section of their online portals. That method would cost us significant monthly fees, since the due date is March 15th, so we’d be paying for around 9 months (April onwards) of unnecessary monthly fees.
....2) continued from above, if you need additional help with this option. If you wish to pay with Credit Card or PayPal, and you have not online shopped often, you may want to ask a family member or friend to help you through these steps. This is very understandable, since this is not 100% easy, if you have not done this before.
If you wish to proceed per below, please select appropriate Levy (be very careful with this and any other steps noted below, especially if you don't online shop too often) or other option in list below, and then enter your Account # (4 or 5 digit # on your invoice), then click Add to Cart, then on next page update quantity if needed, and if you need to add other Levies or amounts, click Continue Shopping, and then select another amount from list below, then Add to Cart, and then update Quantities.
You can then review and fine-tune so Total amount matches to what you'd like to pay.
Then, to pay by Credit Card, you can click Check Out (not the PayPal Check Out) button, and then pay with your credit card details. Or, if you'd like to pay with your PayPal Account, click PayPal CheckOut button, and then follow those instructions.
If your payment is correctly processed, you'll receive an email to the email address you added when you made your payment. If you did not insert your correct email address, PayPal will not know how to reach you with the receipt. Also, whether you pay via credit card or PayPal, you'll receive a receipt from PayPal, since they are the processing company looking after all payment types.
